Thanks so much for helping our dream become a reality! Our theme for the 2015 summer is "Dreaming is Believing". What better way to live into that message than to raise over $30,000 for our new Sawyerville Scholarship Fund. What an incredible amount of money raised in just three short days!
We had a total of 163 donors between Monday and Wednesday 61 people were honored by these gifts And our grand total, including our two matching grants, is $31,826
We will contact those who were honored by your gifts in the coming days.
Again, thanks for spreading the word and making so many wonderful contributions. We are less than a month away from camp and we cannot wait for another amazing summer together!

A Letter from Leslie Manning on Wednesday May 6, 2015:
Dear SDC Family,
Thank you so much for supporting and following the Gifts for Grads campaign! We have raised over $7,000 in two short days, and I know we can raise the rest today to get us to our goal of $15,000! I’m so grateful to our two donors who provided the matching gifts enabling your donation to be matched dollar for dollar through the end of today. The donation you make during this campaign will go toward building the principal of the Sawyerville Camp Scholarship Fund, and it will last a lifetime. Our hope is to invest a minimum of $30,000 before this summer.
It has been amazing to watch the growth and depth that this ministry has experienced over the last decade. It’s incredible to watch our campers grow up and turn into some of our most valuable staff volunteers. More and more I have staff volunteers and their parents come to me and ask what sort of support the camp can provide for college or vocational training programs. “Camp” as it is known in the community has become a safe space, a consistent and life-giving source that is representative of our sustained presence in the community and the children’s lives.
As we continue to dream and plan out our next ten years and beyond, our aim is to continue to foster these relationships, have the deepest impact possible and support our campers from childhood into adulthood.
Recently, one of our key volunteers summarized exactly why we continue to expand and move into the academic components of our campers’ lives. It isn’t because research told us to or because anyone feels guilt or pity or a sense of obligation. He put it simply: “Because we love them.”
Please consider donating today. We have received both small and large gifts during this campaign, and every gift counts. Give in honor of a recent graduate, soon-to-be-graduate, a camper, a loved one, or your favorite teacher. We will be sure to let them know about your gift and the life-changing work of Sawyerville Day Camp.
Because we love them,
Do you know a soon-to-be graduate? Make a gift to the new Sawyerville Day Camp Scholarship Fund in honor of your grad. Your gift will help to enable former Sawyerville campers to achieve the same goals as your graduate.
Don’t know a soon-to-be graduate? Give in honor of a camper who dreams of being a graduate. We will let all graduates or campers know about the gift that was made in their honor. Every child who attends SDC is capable of great things, but not every child has the financial means necessary. You can help by supporting the Sawyerville Day Camp Scholarship Fund.
